Flex Kiosk – Credential Migration & MFA Upgrade (Card technology change)
A secure client operating a large access control estate needed to upgrade from MIFARE Classic to DESFire EV3 smart cards and introduce multi-factor authentication using personal PINs. The goal was to modernise their credential technology, verify cardholders securely, and automate the process without adding workload for security staff.
FlexKiosk was deployed as a self-service terminal to handle the full credential lifecycle. The kiosk verified each user by reading their existing card and scanning an ID document, then performing facial matching—comparing the stored access-control image with a live image—to confirm identity, supported by liveness detection to prevent spoofing. Once verified, the old credential was automatically removed from the access control system and physically retained within the kiosk’s tamper-protected boundary.
A new DESFire EV3 card was printed, linked to the verified user, and issued alongside a freshly created PIN. The process delivered a secure, auditable, and fully automated migration path to modern credential technology—without manual intervention or downtime.
Multi site access control
A UK secure estate ran multiple sites on different access control systems — Hirsch Velocity and Paxton — resulting in duplicate enrolments and inconsistent permissions.
Flex was deployed as the central authority for identities, cards, and access rights, synchronising updates to both platforms in real time and enforcing instant revocation across the estate.
